FAQs

If you can't find what you are looking for don't hesitate to contact us.

Is this no win, no fee?

Our service is offered on a no win, no fee basis. If your claim is successful, a success fee may apply of up to 30% plus VAT if your case settles before any court action starts or 40% plus VAT if it settles after court proceedings have started, calculated on the amount we recover for you. This only becomes payable once the 14-day cooling-off period has passed. You may cancel at any time during the cooling-off period at no cost. After this period, we may charge for reasonable costs incurred. Those reasonable fees will be based upon a proportion of the work carried out when compared to the full service we have agreed to supply to you.

If your case proceeds to litigation, our fees may be charged differently (for example, a combination of hourly rates and a success fee). In successful court proceedings, some fees may be recoverable from the defendant. If your claim is unsuccessful at litigation, we are not entitled to payment of our fees; however, you may be liable for adverse costs, which can include the defendant's legal costs and disbursements.

To protect you from this risk, we would usually recommend taking out After the Event (ATE) insurance, which (subject to policy terms) can cover adverse costs. We can arrange this for you if your claim progresses to litigation. We would only ever recommend litigation where we believe it offers a better potential outcome for you—such as a higher settlement— than the FCA's proposed Consumer Redress Scheme. Please refer to our Service Agreement for full details of all charges.

What is GAP insurance?
GAP Insurance typically covers the difference between a vehicle's write-off value and the outstanding finance. The FCA has expressed concerns about GAP Insurance.
Can I do it myself?
Yes, you can contact your lender directly or refer your claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service yourself for free. The FCA is also consulting on a free Consumer Redress Scheme.
Am I eligible?
If you took out PCP/HP finance between 2007 and 2021 and weren't told about commissions, it's likely you are. It only takes a minute to submit your details and find out, so why not give it a go?
Do I need documents?
No documents are required initially. We can search for your finance agreements using just your basic details.
Will this affect my credit score?
No, making a claim will not affect your credit score. This is a separate process from your credit history.
How much could I get back?
You could be owed £829 on average for your claim. You're not limited to one claim, so if you have bought more than one car on finance you can make multiple claims.
Can I make multiple claims?
Yes, but you will need to declare if you have started any separate claims, either through another representative, or directly to your lender or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
